Most frequent questions and answers about our Adult Program
Not at all! Our instructors will guide you every step of the way! In fact, we want to hear all about your prior experience with yoga lessons (or no experience), and old (or new) injuries so we can accommodate your needs during class.
Restorative yoga for beginners is a gentle and slow-paced yoga practice– so good coordination or flexibility isn’t required! As you learn yoga, you’ll improve those skills in our classes!
YES! Between yoga exercise and meditation, yoga can help you discover the root cause of your discomfort or body challenges. It’s common for students to learn yoga for back pain, hip pain, shoulder and neck tension… and leave feeling better. We’ll work with you to make sure you feel that way too.
Restorative Yoga is a much gentler, slower paced class. At Springfield Club, our yoga classes for beginners are designed to target tension and tightness, not just in the body but in the mind and heart, too. We do asanas, or holding postures, that help you slowly work out the sore spots for relief all over.
Fitness Yoga is much faster paced, and with more intense asanas! You’ll get your sweat on no matter which style you choose, but we recommend gentle yoga for beginners!
Absolutely! Many turn to yoga for health reasons because yoga exercise has amazing benefits. When you relieve tension, tone your body, and de-stress– you feel confident and re-energized!
Some people come to yoga for anxiety, stress, and depression relief from relaxing meditation and deep breathing techniques, which calm the mind. Others turn to yoga for health benefits like weight loss, improved sleep, and better mobility from holding postures. (We even use specific poses in yoga for back pain!)
But if you need one more reason to take our yoga classes– our favorite benefit of restorative yoga for beginners is the community of friends you make right away, and the bond you create with your instructors!
